On Monday Apple released the iOS 9.3.2 update to fix a handful of bugs in the mobile platform, but it seems to have added a new – and quite serious – one that’s affecting owners of the new 9.7-inch iPad Pro.
According to some of the affected users, bricked iPads display an “Error 56″ message which instructs them to plug the device into a computer running iTunes. Unfortunately, this doesn’t seem to fix the issue.
Apple’s own advice for “Error 56″ is equally vague and ineffectual, instructing those affected to “check for issues with third-party security software” before they contact Apple support.
As of the time of writing there doesn’t seem to be a fix for the issue, so if you own a 9.7-inch iPad Pro that hasn’t yet been upgraded to iOS 9.3.2, I suggest you hold off until Apple offers up some sort of fix.
Everyone else, well, you’re good to go with the upgrade.
